Family is a familiar and meaningful theme for every child.
Our My Family Flashcards introduce vocabulary for family members including father, brother, mother, sister, grandfather, grandmother, boy and girl.
Start With the People Your Child Knows
Children can begin by identifying people in their own family.
Ask:
“Who is this?”
Then introduce the corresponding Arabic vocabulary.
Parents can also use family photographs as an extension activity. Point to a photograph of a grandparent, sibling or parent and encourage the child to identify the relationship in Arabic.
When vocabulary is connected to people they love, the words become much easier to remember.
